- Give access to only those people who need access. As mentioned in allow for growth,the software we use has sophisticated user management.
- Provide secure access when working remotely. The software we use provides a VPN (Virtual Private Network),or a secure,encrypted ‘tunnel’between your PC and the appliance so that hackers cannot intercept messages or transmitted information.
Keep your information secure
- Keep control of your information on site –not ‘in the cloud’. Many suppliers are extolling the virtues of hosted services like remote backup and remote file share. There are issues around this:you do not know who exactly has access to your information,your information may be stored outside the EU (DataProtection Act implications),you may not be able to retrieve your information should you stop paying for the service or wish to change suppliers. Smart Box of Tricks is an on-site solution,meaning you only send to the outside world the information you need to,keeping your risk to a minimum.
The software we use has encrypted backup. Indeed using Lotus Notes,all emails and attachments are encrypted with a keyfile unique to your ID. S-BoT-2 has a ‘raid’hard disk so should one hard disk fail,your business still functions. If you take out our maintainance contract,we can warn you of this event and ship out a new appliance before the original appliance fails and restore your service from the backup.
The backup procedures we recommend means that in the case of fire or theft,disaster recovery can be implemented very quickly,meaning minimum impact to your business.
